CNN Using YouTube Commentors

While watching some of the China earthquake coverage on CNN, I got distracted by one of the text crawls at the bottom of the screen, simply because it was so hard to figure out what it was trying to say as it slowly scrolled by.

Here it is. Yes, really, (sic) for all of it:

THE DOLLAR’S IS CLIMBING ON THE BELIEF THAT THE U.S. FEDERAL RESERVE MAY FINISHED CUTTING INTEREST RATES — AP

Now, if you just saw that somewhere on the Internet, would you be more likely to attribute it to some 10 year old commenting on a YouTube video, or the combined typing powers of the AP and CNN? Well, you’d be wrong.

Way to go, CNN. How hard is it to type up a single sentence that isn’t chock full of confusing mistakes?
