Technorati Rejecting Pingoat Pings?
Anyone else notice this? If you use Pingoat manually to ping out–as opposed to the automated RPC/XML/whatever interface–and look at the results for each service, Technorati has been failing a lot lately. Specifically, you get:
Pinging technorati.com
Connection failed
The first one or two times I saw that, I figured that it was just Technorati being down. Those kinds of things happen on the wild and wooly tubes that we call the Intarwebs. But going to Technorati manually and saying you’d updated still worked. And whenever I try Pingomatic, it says that Technorati worked (although Pingomatic is having its own separate issues of the results page timing out, but I’ll ignore that for now.)
So it looks like Technorati may have decided that they didn’t like being pinged from Pingoat, and are blocking its IP address or something like that. Just a guess based on what I’ve been seeing as a Goat pinger.
Anyone have Pingoat successfully ping Technorati lately?
Anyone have no idea what half of the words in this post mean? If so, don’t fret; I give you this picture that I thought was hilarious, and so you should think it’s hilarious also:

UPDATE: Nevermind, today it looks fine. Pingoat is once again successfully pinging Technorati. I can’t explain it, so just go back and look at the sad picture of the huge exploding manatee.
