The Mark Foley Scientology Connection

Ok, now this is interesting. Since Mark Foley entered an alcoholism treatment center in Clearwater, FL, a hotbed of Scientology, someone did some digging, and discovered that yes, Mark Foley is at least peripherally involved with the Church of Scientology. I wonder if he wasn’t after sex with the pages, he just wanted to take them to visit their local volcanos and explain their alien-tastic history to the youngsters.

Mary Story from the Church of Scientology and Brett Miller from the Clearwater Businessman’s Association present leatherbound copies of Dianetics and The Way to Happiness to Republican State Committee woman Nancy Riley and Congressman Mark Foley.

The Clearwater Business Association seems to be a scientology group, not actually a local business group. The giving out of Dianetics and the mention of the meeting on a Scientology web site would seem to give that away pretty quickly.

I sure hope Foley doesn’t need any psychiatric treatment to work on his pedophilia.
