Your Kids Were Right

Your kids and neighbor’s kids were right: spinach is bad for you. Who knew?

As federal health officials investigate a deadly outbreak of bacteria-tainted bagged spinach that has killed one person and sickened dozens more, restaurants and grocery stores around the country are temporarily pulling spinach off menus and shelves.

Ok, so not exactly bad for you, just the bad bags. The strangest thing about this story is that I haven’t used bagged spinach at home in at least a year, until earlier in the week when we made a dinner with bagged spinach.

I’m feeling fine, so I don’t think I got any of the bad stuff. But I guess I’ve just got bad vegetable timing to be buying and using bagged spinach for the first time in decades right now when it’s the most dangerous time to be doing so.

By the way, is it just me or would Bad Vegetable Timing be a good name for a band? Or maybe just Bad Vegetable. Yeah, that’s even better. We’ll be opening for Popeye and The Popettes next weekend at the airport Holiday Inn. Bring your friends!
