I Hope Nobody Gets Shot in the Face…

Boing Boing found this little gem from Karen Floyd, a woman running for State Superintendent of Education in South Carolina. They’re having a fundraiser on September 11th, and it’s a dove-shoot.

Yes, they’re going to go out and shoot at doves. Those zany Republicans, they just love killing things too much to let 9/11 go by without a chance to say, “War Is Good!” You know, down with the “doves” and all that. Not only down with the doves, but let’s kill some.

I’ve never even heard of people shooting doves for sport before. Aren’t they universally regarded as happy cute birds that let you know when the Olympics are starting and things like that? This sounds like something Dick Cheney would have thought up during his Monday morning evil-storming sessions in his underground lair.

By the way, I’m very curious about whether she got republication rights for every single article about her campaign that’s scanned in and published on the “media” section of her web site.
