TL/RX: Bad Timing. Check Next Time. kthx
Why is it that whenever I travel somewhere for a week, I wound up missing some band coming to town that I would have loved to see? Every single time.
I’m off to Blackhat and DEFCON in Las Vegas in a few days, which I’m looking forward to. It’s always a good time. But, as usual, I discover that I’m missing some awesome music back at home while I’m away.
This time it’s Ted Leo and the Pharmacists in Baltimore. Given how accessible Ted is to the fans, you’d think he’d at least check in with me before scheduling these shows.
“Hey, Mr. Rake, would August 2nd be a good day for a show in Baltimore?”
“No, Ted, no! That is definitely not the day you want to be in Baltimore. Try a week or two later! Thanks for asking, though.”
Yeah, that never seems to happen. Which is why I’m putting this pointless whine out here in public. The voices in my head say that if I’m going to get what I want, I need to write about it here on the Internets where nobody will ever see it. So if there’s someone reading this, and it’s not me, you should probably stop; you’re messing with what the voices in my head told me to do, and that’s not something you should be messing with. It’s like that Butterfly movie with That 70’s Show guy. You never know what consequences your actions might have.
