The Famous Stephen Colbert at the White House Video
Apparently there’s been some interesting stuff afoot with the now-famous video of Stephen Colbert giving his speech at the White House Press Correspondents Dinner. If you’re somehow reading this and haven’t seen it yet, what are you waiting for? What’s wrong with you? Are you some homeless people who stumbled on this site by accident while taking a break from sleeping on the sidewalk? Even so, that’s no excuse for not having seen this yet.
I didn’t realize there were take-down notices and all that going around. It sounds like C-SPAN was objecting to people posting truncated clips of the program, and a copy of just Colbert’s speech (in three parts) in Youtube that was a popular online copy of the speech was taken down by C-SPAN’s request. But the issue was just the truncated version of the show, and the whole thing is now up at Google Video. Colbert’s speech is from 51:52 to 1:15:38. But don’t miss President Bush shaking his hand right afterwards. Unless you want to, I guess.
Of course, the way to see a high quality copy would be to search out a BitTorrent. There’s an XVID encode floating around that’s going to blow away any of these Flash FLV-based streaming sites like Google Video and Youtube. But I guess C-SPAN didn’t approve that, so you’ll have to take your chances with C-SPAN enforcement goons smashing through your front door in the middle of the night to take your first-born away as payment for your unauthorized viewing of their content.
If that happens, you don’t know me.
